A recipient of the 2010 “Reston Interfaith Small Business of the Year” award, Maude leads by example and understands the importance of giving back to the community. Owning a salon has afforded Maude the ability to offer one-on-one learning opportunities to a countless number of talented stylists and fashionistas who have walked through her door. These programs were created to support Maude’s mantra to help up and coming stylists achieve their goals and dreams.
There are 2 roads to becoming a hairdresser at Maude, each placing our students as Rookies on the floor; the path of the Apprentice and the path of the Blossom. Both paths are designed to fully integrate future stylists into Maude’s salon culture to give them the exposure and experience required for a successful future.
Apprentices earn the required “Department of Cosmetology” 3000 hours in-house, working one-on-one with mentors and attending training classes at Maude. Maude is their beauty school.
The Blossom program is designed for cosmetology school graduates. Maude evaluates these stylists technical and customer service skills, and customizes a training program specifically for them.
Regardless of how anyone starts their journey at Maude, at some point during the training they will graduate to Rookie status. Rookie is the first level to advance careers behind the chair. Rookies provide services to paying guests at discounted prices.
